Studies have shown that alternative seating increases on-task behavior and decreases off-task behavior. Additionally, classrooms designed to support learning where students are encouraged to participate increases student engagement compared to traditional row-by-column seating in plastic chairs with desks. Herman Miller also did a study, which proved that “giving people some control over their surroundings adds to their sense of well-being.” By donating to our project, you'll help my students find the classroom environment more comfortable to learn in. The various types of seats along with the area rug will all be used for this sole purpose. To allow the students the chance to choose freely where they sit and how they learn best, but more comfortably! :)
