My students are great readers but, often struggle to find the motivation to read due to the lack of materials in our classroom. With texts based around their interests, their motivation is likely to improve which will increase their reading time. With an increase in reading time/practice, their ability will improve as well. The books that are requested fit the needs and wants of the children in my second grade class. We held a poll and found the titles they enjoy reading the most. My students need to have opportunities to read a variety of texts on their level but, also find enjoyment in the reading. The inexpensive books I have requested will be a great addition to our library and spark the interests of the students in my class.
