This carpet will be utilized on a daily basis by my students and myself. We will start the day by using the carpet for morning circle and will continue to utilize the carpet space throughout the day for lessons and as a quiet work space. The carpet will be the main meeting space in our classroom and it will be used not only for teaching but also to build a sense of community. When students feel safe, heard, and understood they are more apt to share and are more ready to learn! A carpet is essential in an elementary classroom.
