My students will be taking the math STAAR test for the first time this year. To help better prepare them, I am requesting some Lakeshore Math centers and journals. The students will use these centers daily during our center rotation. We do daily small group math centers. We will use the Lakeshore Math Instant learning centers and math STAAR workbooks to help the students practice counting, addition, subtraction, shapes and patterns and more! The students will work in small groups to reinforce the math skills that we have worked on as a whole group. These basic math skills are crucial to the foundation of learning math. These materials will be used as test preparation, mocking exactly what the questions from STAAR would look like. The object of the materials is to resemblance the type of questions that the students will encounter during the state exam. All items on our project are geared towards the success on testing for all kids on the program. Along with the Lakeshore supplies, I am requesting a rolling cart to better equip my Teacher Table during center time. These materials will empower my students to reach for the STAAR®!
