Students become urban wildlife scientists as they collect data, identify problems, and then plan and carry out solutions to urban wildlife within their school community. Students need technology, tablets, to record urban wildlife observation on applications such as INaturalist, and take pictures to identify and record observations. The goal of the project is for students to use science to make a positive influence in the world. Classroom learning and real world applications are integrated for the students when they assess the urban wildlife in their community. Students become problem solvers and action takers when they use their data to make a positive impact on urban wildlife in their community.
