My students need more flexible seating options in the classroom. My students frequently work collaboratively throughout the day to help support each other with their learning. This can be difficult to do when confined to desks and chairs. Flexible seating gives students choice, comfort, and improved community. Your generous donation will improve our fourth grade classroom by allowing the students to move and work more freely throughout their space. Flexible seats, such as balance ball chairs, peanut balls, and kick flippers will afford the students the ability to create a work space that fits their personal comfort level. The benefits of flexible seating are numerous. At the top of the list is student choice. Students get to choose where they sit: what seat fits their needs the best and what location in the room best serves their learning needs. Flexible seating also frequently involves movement, such as wiggling, rocking, etc. Not only is this better for the students' physical health, but also for their mental health. Movement throughout the day helps keeps the students' minds more alert and focused. With the right classroom management I believe that my students can also enjoy the benefits of flexible seating.
