In a Montessori math round Students are exposed and have access to a wide variety of math manipulatives. Students work independent on shelf work to help them learn to recognize and build numbers. My students would benefit from the checker board beads, bead stairs with beads, and teen bead hanger to build numbers from 1-20. Students will use the different color beads and the hangers to see how many tens and ones go into each number. My class will enjoy getting to practice their operation skills using the wooden number cards and counting rods. My students can visualize the different parts of numbers that they are working with and manipulate different number models and sentences. The small wooden number cards are useful to show students how to build numbers using ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. The small wooden number cards allow students to identify and determine the value of a given number.
