I am a teacher at Yardville Elementary School in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. This year I will be teaching in an integrated preschool classroom where I will have the opportunity to create a welcoming, friendly, and educational atmosphere for the preschoolers in my class which consist of typical developing peers from the Hamilton Township community, as well students with disabilities within the district. Regardless of a student's ability level, they learn from one another.In an integrated classroom, students with special needs have the opportunity to observe typically developing children, who serve as positive role models by demonstrating appropriate skills that are being taught within the classroom. This year my goal is to create a classroom learning environment that fosters a sense of community. The students in my class will have opportunities throughout the day to work and play along side one another!
