My kids need books because they need to read. As anyone who has tried to get a teenager to crack open a book will tell you, that's simpler in theory than in practice. I need to be able to provide my students with a constantly expanding, stimulating, and engaging library space. My school provided the bookshelves, I provided the books, and now we need you to provide the furniture to help turn our classroom library into a comfortable and welcoming space. With two futons and two area rugs, we can finish the initial space that we've already committed significant time and money to. Making my students feel at home in our own library will help them become more engaged and eager readers. Reading for leisure will facilitate all sorts of reading and learning. My students will be able to improve their reading, writing, and communication skills on their own in this space.
