A sensory table (sand and water) is a great addition to a special education classroom. Students with special needs often have sensory aversions and are resistant to certain textures. A sand and water table would be a great way to introduce different textures to students. For example, the table could be filled with sand and sand toys for a great sensory experience. Since spring is right around the corner, the table could be filled with seeds, dirt, and planting tools for hands-on experience in the classroom. Water and water toys is another fun sensory experience as well. A new sensory (sand/water) table in the classroom will help my students have real sensory experiences! We have been unable to update and/or replace aging materials in the classroom. My current sand/water table's drain is broken, so it it not able to be used appropriately. Please consider donating to my very deserving students!
