My kids are amazing! They notice everything new...and it is so true that children are sponges! After reading Rapunzel, we did a "STEAM" project-"Rapunzel engineers an escape". They were given a paper towel tube Tower, few supplies and they had to work in teams of 4. The creativity was amazing, they had to work together and they had fun! READING is and will always be my main focus, but adding in some fun educational items has added so much to the library. Some kids are born readers...they live to read. Some kids are not. I believe that at this age level those that are not born readers have a pleasurable experience at the library they may just learn to enjoy books.
