This is our final project for our book vs. movie club. Throughout the year we have mainly listened to audio books together. We rarely get to read as a group because we focus on books that have become movies, and haven't been read in class. I often let the students choose the book because I want to make sure the club feels like an after school activity and not a classroom. Many of the students started this club with me three years ago. Now, as they prepare for high school, I want them to have a book they can keep. After reading the books and watching the movies, students will be drawing connections to the community around them. They will the discussion and decide what message they want to share with the school community and how they see best to share it.
