We will use these carefully chosen books to integrate reading, social studies, and writing into our day as read-aloud lessons in our classroom. Not only will these books grab their attention, they will also expand their learning with journal writing responses with a partner. This builds a stronger writer without the pressure! I believes this also builds a strong classroom community as we share and work together around our learning. Students will then be able to choose their favorite book to take home and read with their family, while also journaling with them. After students share with their families and do several journal entries, we will wrap up this lesson on the Roaring Twenties with a Literature Circle in class. These books will remain in our classroom library and can be checked out by all my students. Unfortunately, I cannot make this lesson happen without your support.
