Many students with disabilities face a variety of challenges every day including being embarrassed about not being able to read. A C-Pen is a handheld scanner that allows students to scan and listen with headphones to content text in the regular classroom. Being able to use a tool like the C-Pen will allow them to access classroom text independently. This allows high school non-readers to be autonomous and stay within the regular classroom. This will make a difference in their learning because they will be able to get the enrichment from the regular classroom and learn the same materials as their peers.
