We are always on our carpet in kindergarten! My students spend more time on our class rug than we ever do in our seats. Being together on our rug gives me a better chance to talk and discuss things with each of my students. This is the spot where we read our books, count, and work together on class projects. The classroom rug that we have now has been passed down and left from year to year. It is stained beyond cleaning, torn in multiple places and the backing is completely gone. To say it has outlived it usefulness is an understatement. My students would love a new clean classroom rug to learn on!
