Having five iPad Air tablets will help with literacy during a small group in my classroom. The iPads will be used for many different programs. One of many programs is Lexia Core 5. With Lexia Core 5, students use blended learning that accelerates their fundamental literacy skills. Another website we will use to help literacy is Storyline Online. The students listen to stories read by actors and actresses. These are also Accelerated Reader (AR) books that they can take tests on. Students will also be able to read books on the Kindle app and many other apps for children's books. Our curriculum also has a login for each student to be given assignments. This can be done individually or in a group. These programs will help bridge the gap to get the students back on grade-level. The students love being on technology. Why not let them learn while they are using it? Having access to technology will help my students catch up to where they need to be from school being postponed from Hurricane Harvey. It will empower them to learn new skills that will stay with them for years to come.
