I teach in a specialized classroom at a middle school. I teach 6th through 8th grades from 2nd-grade academic level to 12 month levels. I love every one of them the same, but as I am just starting out with the task boxes for all of them, I am lacking in some materials. My children love to learn and I think having everything totally individualized for them help them excel. Each student will have tasks boxes that tailors to their individual needs. We have four students who are non-verbal and require more hand over hand manipulative using a variety of media. Having task boxes that accommodates each students' individual need will be more meaningful for the student and allows for more time to be focused on the other students. Developing tasks boxes with math goals that would encompass measuring and fractions would be much more learner friendly than simply working on worksheets only. Two of my students require more life skills activities such as safety signs, grooming, so on. Our students are on different levels therefore it is imperative that they have access to materials that will best fit their overall levels.
