Currently, my students sit on the floor for direct instruction. In kindergarten this may be comfortable for little learners (as pictured). However, when the students get older and larger it is not as comfortable to sit on the floor and learn. These chairs will give my students a flexible seating option during our time together. My 9-10 year old students only get 30 minutes of recess per day, which is only about 3 1/2 hours per week. Adding movement into my lessons are crucial to their success, memory and focus in my class. We use tools like dance breaks and yoga to help students stay on task throughout the day. The rocking chairs will allow for students to move even while working on their math and listening to direct instruction. I hope you will consider helping me get them off the floor and rocking.
