Escape room entertainment has become very popular. My students are not familiar with the concept, however, they do enjoy the challenge of solving puzzles and finding clues to find out what comes next. The clues unlock boxes that lead to finding answers using pictures, video clips, and sound clips. The patience and persistence of working together to solve the different clues and unlock the next box. BreakoutEDU promotes communication, higher level critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. These skills are necessary for English Language Learners to use in their general education classroom. BreakoutEDU can be modified to reach learners of ALL ages and language proficiencies and to make learning engaging and FUN!
