I am a first year teacher in need of funding for flexible seating. Research shows that movement in the classroom actually helps students focus and achieve academically. I have many students who are struggling to stay in their seat and need to get their "wiggles" out. With these new options, they will be able to make better choices in the classroom. Flexible seating is a fun and engaging way to help promote a positive learning environment. Since I work at a Title I school, many students do not have these types of opportunities. By giving them choices and letting them choose to sit where they feel they will work best, this will also teach them how to be responsible of their own choices.
