BeIng a SCIENTIST is a "staTe" (see what I did there...;o)...states of matter...states of mind...so much is dependent on how we see ourselves, how much we prepare, how we "dress for success"...so my thought is simply this... I hope to create an environment in which my 3-5 grade students feel energized and excitemed, curious, and well-equipped to learn about Social Studies and Science...to Explore, Learn, Wonder, Imagine, and moreover, to ENVISION themselves as explorers, wonderers, and learners...hopefully to encourage them to purse careers with those same passions...but above all, to live their lives with them! Yes, we can study science and social studies without lab coats...but sometimes, just the feeling you have when you enter into a room, when you don the uniform, when you feel an importance of what you are getting ready to do it can make a huge difference in your mindset, your vision, and the outcome. Like habits of successful people...seeing the goal, preparing, feeling it's importance, doing the work, and then realizing the outcome are all part of a process, an environment, and a bigger picture.
