My students love to read, write, and work around the classroom. Most of the time they do this by sitting on the floor, but I'd like to give them more options to be able to work more comfortably than simply at a table or on the hard floor. Providing my students with floor cushions, stools, and bean bag chairs will give them a more welcoming and comfortable learning environment that will help to enhance their ability to focus on their studies. More and more research is suggesting that students with greater choice and flexibility in the classroom are more likely to value and engage more in their class work. I believe by providing my students more flexibility in how they choose to engage in their class work will enhance their focus and mental endurance.
