The materials will help my scholars be able to "picture" the book (Milkweed) we are reading as well as use their skills of textual evidence. They will do this by participating in an ongoing project called "Chapter Creations." For the project "Chapter Creations," the students will be using the butcher paper to draw a scene of their choice from the book Milkweed. They will then use textual evidence to show exactly (by writing it down below the picture) why they drew the picture the way they did. The goal is the writing should match up with the picture they drew, so they can visualize and analyze deeply the scenes in the book for better comprehension.
