We have recently completed our fraction unit in class and it didn’t go well at all. The students used and colored their own fraction tiles on regular paper and they were very easy to lose or to rip. We are going back to remediate the fraction unit within the upcoming weeks. These materials will help the students because they will be more sturdy and easier to use when working with fractions. We have very few base ten blocks in our school, but they are all the same color and hard for the students to see the difference. These materials will be enough for me to work in small groups and for the students to use during partner work!
