The students in my classroom love to get out of their seat and away from their desk as much as they can. My students would rather sit and work on the floor than anywhere else in the room and honestly I am right there with them! Who doesn't love to be comfortable while working? Studies show that when students are given the opportunity to choose an environment they feel comfortable in, they are more focused and engaged in the task at hand. In my classroom I have four flexible seating crates I have made for my students to use as an alternative seating option and they LOVE them. I also have about 6 pillows I have gotten together that sit in my library area. The students use these while playing games, completing assignments, or reading their favorite library book. With 20 students it is hard for me to give every student an alternative seating option. This is why I am asking for four blueberry blue Flex-Space floor seats. These will give my students an additional option for seating during our lessons and activities! Having these seats will help my students feel at ease and comfortable while staying on task and focused on their task. I am also asking for a big area rug. This will also be used for an alternative seating option for my students, but also an area that the whole class can come together and meet.
