My school is a public Title 1 School, meaning a large number of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Enrollment is about 500, including 4-yr.-old kindergarten through the 5th grade. Although our district is known as one of the top in the state, this particular school is the closest in the district to the inner city, so our students are ethnically diverse, largely low-income, and often transient. The majority of them come from single-parent homes or blended families. All of this said, our students are like all other children. They love to learn new things and they have many talents.
