My students mainly come from a rural community. Many of them have grown up on farms or neighbor one. Most have not traveled out of the state and as far as cultural activities, many have never been to a museum or theater. We are located in central Ohio so many have been able to travel to our capital, Columbus but usually for shopping trips.
