This is my first exciting year as a teacher. I have been assigned to teach kindergarten. I have twenty five little students who are precious and a brand new room. A giant empty room. All good teachers know the importance of early childhood students being able to hold and manipulate learning activities. I have asked for counters that I plan on using to teach math concepts such as addition, grouping, sorting, and subtracting. Hands on letter blocks will be used for multiple purposes from letter recognition to sounding out and making words. The hundreds chart puzzles can serve to help students recognize number orders and recognize patterns in a series. The touch phonics activities will help English language learners be able to recognize and hear sounds using compound learning modalities. I enjoy teaching and seeing my children learn. I can not wait to see how much more successful my students can be with these new and exciting activities.
