These tools are beneficial in helping students that are diagnosis with ADD, ADHD or autism adjust to a regular class environment. Our goals is that all students in our school have the tools they need to be successful. Items like flexible seating allows a fidgety student options that promote class participation. Stress balls, gel pads, gel timers are useful tools sensory tools that teachers can utilize to get an agitated student calm. Chair kicks bands are used to calm busy legs. These tools help to build skills that they can utilize for the rest of their lives. Studies have shown that students that are able to utilize sensory tools to cope with their disability have a higher probability of being successful academically.
