The students will finally have an opportunity to paint with acrylics, tempera, and watercolor. They have not had a chance to do this yet because we have no way of letting the artwork dry for 180 students. These students are deserving of trying different art media and they will be so excited to paint their first works. With all the hardships that our students face being in a gang-infested neighborhood, and drugs being rampant, art can make a difference in their lives. They need a safe place to come to and relax from the troubles outside of the art doors, and painting can be very relaxing for the students. The money donated to this project will provide a drying rack so students have different media to work with. I am so excited to teach the students how to paint. We are starting off painting on boxes until I can get a drying rack for the paintings.
