Many of my students are visual learners. An Elmo document camera provides a visual of student and teacher writing samples. In the classroom, I will model for the students how to write a particular writing prompt underneath the Elmo. The Elmo will project it onto the board so that students can see the entire writing process being modeled. On the other hand, I will be able to call students up to model their writing for their classmates. I can also put various classroom documents underneath the Elmo camera for them to see during class. It is a great tool to help visual learners. My goal is to improve the writing skills of all the students in my classes. This skill will transfer over into all subject areas.
