My second graders are developing into independent readers with a voracious appetite for books. I am a veteran teacher with a well-loved ( and well-worn) classroom library. While I strive to provide all my readers with interesting texts at their own reading levels, more books are always needed! Fresh and engaging new books will give my students more reading practice, support the development of strong comprehension skills, and keep the love of reading burning. These books will be used for independent reading at home and at school, for strengthening of comprehension and writing skills, and for a collaborative end-of-year presentation.
