I am requesting 24 new indoor soccer balls to use throughout the school year but specifically in the soccer unit. The soccer unit I teach helps my students learn the manipulative skills required in soccer. For example, in kindergarten we focus on kicking a stationary ball. In 1st grade, we build up to kicking a ball with force and dribbling the soccer ball. As the students progress to 2nd grade, the focus is dribbling using various speeds and directions. The 3rd and 4th graders also play soccer inside the gym. We do not have a field for the kids to play in, so the 3rd and 4th graders play a game called sideline soccer. We use the lines of the basketball court for our game.
