A set of Chromebooks is needed in my school to assist our students learning so that each student has access to one. Technology can be a powerful tool to assist students with special needs or any sort of learning challenge. In particular, the Chrome web browser allows users to install a wide variety of web extensions that provide tools that can help all learners, regardless of ability level. Chromebooks offer excellent assistive technology that helps students with special needs access and curriculum and information. Google Apps and Extensions in the Chrome Web Store provide many supports to students with learning challenges. They allow students to access additional resources to support their learning and address their individual needs. There are specialized web apps, screen readers, text-to-speech and speech-to-text, screen magnifies, curriculum resources, lesson ideas, collaboration tools and so much more. The uses for Chromebooks are endless!
