My students are very intrigued by using technology in the classroom! Not all of them have access at home to complete tasks online and we have very limited access to computer labs at our school. As I have noticed, the more these students are truly engaged in their learning, the more I see them growing from using technology. We say, "Don't judge a book by its cover" that can both literally and figuratively affect a person's mindset towards many things in their life. "Don't judge a tablet by its case" is a way to emphasize that there is so much we can do with this little piece of technology. It can open our world to millions of possibilities to enhance the students' learning and growing in society. When I told the kids I would try to get more technology in the classroom, their eyes lit up with excitement! Our school is focused on using a progress monitoring website that suggests lessons for the students in reading and math. On these tablets with cases, we can install the app for this website that the students can find time for during school hours to complete our 60 minutes for each subject. The students will also have opportunities to use the tablets for enrichment activities that coincide with what we are learning in the classroom to push them even further in their learning!
