In a small country town that most have probably never heard of, I teach 4th grade reading. The school itself is very large consisting of around 500 students. I teach students the skills they will need to be successful readers and students. Our classes are departmentalized so I teach reading to every student in 4th grade. I teach a group of 90 fourth grade students with a combination of various special needs students mainstreamed within. My students are a mix of highly motivated learners to students with very little to no motivation. I feel that one of my most important jobs is to instill the love of reading in the students. Students who love to read will read anything they can get their hands on. I have all different levels of books and materials in my classroom because all students are not on the same reading level.
