These materials are crucial for students to gain a concrete understanding of area and perimeter concepts in 3rd grade. My students learn best when given the opportunity to use manipulatives, center resources and hands-on activities! The Area and Perimeter "Hands-on" Teaching Kit will allow students to each have their OWN vinyl storage bag of 80 area tiles to utilize during teaching and exploring of area and perimeter concepts. This will help me maximize teaching time and give every student an opportunity to use manipulatives to aid in their learning. The "Build & Learn" Kit will help students apply concepts to build models for real-world problems and students will be able to practice independently with the Length, Perimeter and Area Hands-On Measurement Center activities. Finally, students will be able to build their newly acquired math skills with write and wipe boards to make, write, solve, share and reuse area model whiteboards over and over again.
