My students are in need of alternative seating to create a more comfortable environment that assists our students to be their best learning selves. We want to truly prepare our students for the real world and for this we need to put them in responsive, dynamic environments-life outside is full of choices. The world is changing, but classrooms are staying the same. We need to revitalize our space which is a straightforward way to let students exercise choice in the learning environment and find academic success on their own terms. With teacher space being less, teachers can spend time working with students and the room will be "ours" instead of "mine" which gives the students a sense of control and choice in learning. This will also assist with behavior. Aggressive or disruptive behaviors will hope to decrease as students are given the power to choose where they sit. They know the work is not optional, but choosing WHERE they work is.
