I am requesting a classroom set of novels titled, "The Sign of the Beaver," by Elizabeth George Speare. I believe this novel will allow my students to reflect on how challenges in life will teach us to persevere in order to become successful, as well as to show that unique differences in others can forge opportunities to bring out the best in ourselves. My students are also learning how to identify and respect diversity of other cultures. With teaching across the curriculum, my social studies unit will integrate text dependency in Reading. My role as a teacher is not merely just to educate, but to combine learning with excitement of reading. My goal is to promote literacy and give them resources that are fulfilling and enjoyable, and to make it student centered. Your assistance of making reading meaningful and enjoyable can be beneficial for my students. It would speak phenomenally to the awesome learning and growing of achievement that is taking place in and out of my classroom.
