Given recent events, as educators, we are concerned about school safety. Our students are our top priority. This project will provide 11 teachers with The Barracuda Defense system to use in their classrooms in the event of a lockdown. "Safety is a full-time job-don't make it a part-time practice." At F.E.S. we regularly practice lockdown drills and make students and staff aware of the necessary procedures to help ensure safety. Much of our strategy currently relies on the "out-of-sight" concept. We would like to enhance our safety measures with the addition of The Barracuda Defense System. The system would not only make it more difficult for an intruder to gain access to our classrooms, but give an overall sense of security to everyone.
