My students need to start the day off right with games that challenge their mind. Instead of copying off worksheets and having them solve challenging problems for morning work on paper I want them to be able to think creatively and use manipulatives as soon as they enter the door. I want my kids to WANT to come to school and I know they desire to be challenged. By providing a variety of building sets, chess boards and chess strategies, along with several other fun and challenging board games they will be able to enter our classroom and start exploring right away! They will be excited to learn through hands-on manipulatives and thought-provoking games. Stimulating their interest through a variety of games and building materials will encourage them to be creative and find new ways to solve problems. These high-level skills will carry over into their entire day and will allow them to feel they can accomplish anything if they just set their mind to it.
