I have many students that do not bring a snack with them from home. My assistant and I would never let a child go hungry, especially not while watching others eat, so we buy snacks with our personal money to make sure they have something to eat. Students that are not worried about their empty stomachs are more energetic, more ready to learn, and can think clearly. One snack can really help make the most of direct-teach lessons as well as learning through play until they are able to eat lunch.
