My Kinder students are always ready for a challenge. Their young minds and rapid growing bodies are always ready to learn. As teachers we need to be innovative with our tools and methods. We need to prepare our students for the future using the appropriate tools. In a technology driven world in which education is perceived as less fun it is important to engage and prepare students with the right tools. In my district students are required to work on certain programs for a minimum of 30 minutes three times a week. Unfortunately many students can only practice when they are in the classroom. Because we don't have the necessary tools in our classroom it is very difficult for students to complete the expected times.
We need an iPad to work on technology driven programs such as Imagine Learning, iStation, first in Math and others. With the addition of an iPad, my students will have more individual time with technology. The iPad will be used during math and literacy centers with applications and games that teach and strengthen academic concepts. The iPad will be used for reading and writing activities as well as games that reinforce math facts and ESL vocabulary.
