I plan to create fine motor boxes with the resources. Strong fine motor practice is essential for younger students! As children develop, they use their hands, fingers, and thumbs more often. Fine motor development aids in writing, buttoning, zipping, cutting, and using eating utensils. I plan to create 12 fine motor boxes with specific strengthening activities, such as cutting scrap paper with the fancy scissors, adding beads to pipecleaners or shoestrings. Cutting straws offers practice with scissors. With these resources, students would use a fine motor box daily. Students will use child-friendly tongs to sort items by color, shape, or size. All of these fine motor boxes would work to strengthen the muscles in hands, fingers, and thumbs. Strong fine motor skills are essential in early development and success in everyday life.
