It's proven by research that students who are comfortable and given a choice of where to sit are more successful in classrooms. Being given the option of where to sit, in addition to choosing something besides a hard chair to sit on, will enhance not only my students' creativity but also their focus and attention span. A 1:1 iPad-to-student classroom works hand-in-hand with flexible seating. We just became a one-to-one iPad-to-student classroom, and the students are already showing signs of academic improvement, increased focus, and renewed interest in learning. Adding in the option of flexible seating will take them to new heights! We need pillows, beanbag chairs and exercise balls to use for flexible seating.
