Daily small group math is important for my students. Small group time allows students to work with each other, practice skills on their own and to converse mathematically. Flexible seating empowers my students to choose where and how they would like to share their math knowledge. Classroom engagement using small groups, flexible seating and math concepts are incorporated through my project. Providing the opportunity for students to engage using logic with the Rubik's cube, learning sequence and patterns with Sudoku cubes and interactive leveled learning of multiplication and division with peers using the Math for Love Prime Climb game are key elements to my project. My project will allow my students the opportunity to learn math in a flexible, small group setting according to their own needs.
