My students love to delve into Roald Dahl’s The Big Friendly Giant. Having their own books to read from will enable students to look back while completing fun comprehension activities as well as pictures to enhance their imaginations while we read along. In addition, students will become familiarized with text structure and organization. Also, students may even be so brave as to read to the class themselves. A student can learn a lot from the story itself, but the possibilities become endless if I am able to provide each student with a book of his or her own from which to read.
