I have requested musical instruments so my students can begin learning the elements of music. As my students make music, they will learn about rhythm, and will also learn how to use a drum to maintain a steady beat and they will be able to feel it too. Some of the instruments I have requested include hand shakers, a hand drum set, and a ukulele. The drum set and sound kit will be used to learn about rhythm and tempo. These instruments will help deepen my students' comprehension of read alouds by using the instruments to create soundscapes to score the stories.
Children love to sing, and what better way to foster a love of music than through singing along to the strumming of a soothing ukulele? My students will create simple compositions with their instruments and will learn to appreciate and love the universal language of music.
With your donation to this project, my students will be more engaged in their learning, which will help them have higher academic achievement. Not only will they be having fun and learning with their instruments, but their lives will be enriched with a lifelong love of music. With your donation, these instruments will be used and loved by this year's students and by students for many years to come.
