Middle school students are learning to be more independent and flexible in their learning and setting. I desire to have a classroom that will allow my students to freely chose their seat based on self awareness of their learning environment and what best fits their comfort level. By adding flexible seating to my classroom, students will have more freedom and flexibility to chose their own level of comfort and environment to learn that best suites them. They will learn to handle certain seating styles for note taking, group discussion, and partner sharing. Giving students the ability of flex seating will allow for more engagement and less disruption. My students desire to move, wiggle, stand up, bend, and and lean while learning, and I want to give them this option.
