The materials for this project will not only support STEM 6-8 grade students but will also be utilized by our k-5 students. Using the mono print process all students can explore science and art processes and concepts. Students in middle school will use the process to create microscopic cells and patterns found in nature. Second graders will use the process to create art about the earths layers. And fourth grade will utilize the process to help design their PBL projects. Art can help my students make important connections between their academic content, and innovation. The creative process of mono printing encourages project solving skills and a bit of grit. They often struggle with little mistakes that result in “ happy accidents.”
